I recently submitted a support email, but want to reach out here as well. Has anyone had any issue with migrating a Github.com org to a ghe.com (GitHub Enterprise Cloud with data residency)? It looks like all public (githbu.com based) GitHub Apps are incompatible with ghe.com and/or data residency (at least according to GitHub Support). Has anyone heard of this before.

I’ve not heard that before, we have lots of customers who use both GH.com and GH Ent Cloud with the Infracost GH App

I think it's related to GHE with Data Residency. docs.github.com/en/enterprise-cloud@latest/…/feature-overview-for-github-enterprise-cloud-with-data-residency#… We ran in to similar issues with Atlassian and HashiCorp (unresolved)
However, it's entirely possible I don't know how to set it up with ghe.com. I'll reach out to our SA.

interesting - I wonder if it’s because of the callback URLs when installing the app, as those’ll probably be different between each location. Maybe an approach more similar to GH Ent Server works (where the GH Admin creates a new app and installs it into their GH Orgs) - let us know if you’d like to test that approach on screenshare as we’ve done that many times for GH Ent Server customers

The first hurdle is authenticating the org into Infracost. Because we no longer have github users, my authentication fails. We use SSO user now, and that is the first failure. I do expect the API will fail due to the regionalized endpoints.

Heard from support. There is a 'complex' process that does allow us to integrate in to a ghe.com with data residency. It looks like like you said, we need to schedule a call to make this work, so I'll be working with our internal GitHub team to coordinate a call with them, Infra support and myself. Thank you!!
